The carbon emission of the Alcott belt has been calculated in collaboration with the Doconomy. The entire carbon emission of this belt includes the entire lifespan of the animal’s methane emissions, all transportation and production. Dehanche has calculated the carbon emission as 27.19kg CO2e, or 0.03 tons, a number we strive to reduce. Based on the recommendation of Doconomy, we have benchmarked our internal carbon tax at $130 per ton. For each belt purchased, we are committed to donating $4 to impactful microprojects that reduce and remove CO2 in collaboration with Milkywire’s Climate Transformation Fund.
